Aarhus Symphony Orchestra has just released their new concert season 2020/2021. This will be the first season to feature a new work by me as Composer-in-Residence with the orchestra.
Ouvert’ is the first of four pieces I will compose during my residency. The other pieces include Concerto Grosso for string quartet and orchestra, SYMFONI for orchestra and a 40-minute piece for video, sound and orchestra with the working title [AWAY].
It has been a long time dream of mine to be able to sink my teeth into the big orchestra formats and thanks to Aarhus Symphony Orchestra and the support from the Danish Arts Foundation, this is now possible.
I’m looking forward to share much more about Ouvert’ and the other pieces in the near future.
The new season also includes first performances of new pieces by Poul Ruders, SØS Gunver Ryberg and Leif Segerstam and pieces by Bent Sørensen, Arvo Pärt, Einojuhani Rautavaara, Philip Glass and more. Take a look into the new season here.
